Week Eleven

Well the top two went out early, but never the less still finished out on top of the standings.

First off congrats to tonight's winner: Andrew (wazhapninjj) Fritts took the title tonight (not to mention his third of the season. Glenn (Stumblinwrek) Gruschow took second grabbing his first money finish, while Ned (cnk01) Kelley grabbed his 5th money finish by taking 3rd.

Further congrats to the top five in the standings as they all have finished in the money for the season.

I tend to agree with drsebbi that dcm03 has a huge Target on his shirt now that he has won a total of four AKPL tournaments, including the live game last season and the regular season championship this season.

Check below for all the tournament results and the final points standings and I'll see everyone at the live tournament on Saturday!

(anyone catch the reference?)

Week Ten

David (dcm03) Moss continues to be the story of Season II as he pulls out his 5th money finish out of the tens weeks. Consistency.

Congrats to Ned (cnk01) Kelley for becoming the 3rd two time winner this season, grabbing his 4th money finish and pulling into 5th in the standings. Runner up went to current rookie of the year leader Mark (FuzzyMutant) Robinson, who also gets his 3rd money finish of the season.

Tough luck for Eric (Slick2k) Thornton who was in a heated battle for overall leader a couple of weeks ago, but after back to back 18 and 19th place finishes has fallen out of the money spots.

Should be a good final tournament next week with a few key matchups to watch for:
  • dcm03 leads FuzzyMutant by 9 points for the season title
  • 2PairKiller leads cnk01 by 5 points and Slick2k by 14 points as those three battle for the 4th and 5th position in the money

Who knows maybe cappyuga can pull out a win and jump into the money. Here are the results and updated standings:

I was out first, therefore don't know anything about how the tournament progressed. Check below for results and update standings:

Week Eight

Three of this weeks top five finishers are also in the top five of the season standings, so the same players continue to build on there respective leads. The big story this season seems to be the the Championship tournament winner from last season: David (dcm03) Moss. He's only one point behind in the overall standings, but even more importantly he is the leading money winner and has already won back all his AKPL entry fees for the season by finishing in the money in four of the eight tourneys this season. Consistency. Either that or just suckout after suckout after suckout (probably not). Anyway... check below for all the results from tonight's tournament and the overall standings:

Be Wary of the French

Well the French National Soccer team has managed to find its way to the World Cup Final on Sunday which can mean nothing but bad news for our AKPL Frenchmen, Sebastien (drsebbi) Salomone.

As he put it to me so eloquently, "I'm f'ed for Sundays tournament".

He figures there are basically three options that will describe his condition:
  1. He'll be drunk b/c he started drinking prior to the game start at 2:00 and continued heavily until tournament start time to celebrate the French victory.
  2. He'll be drunk b/c he started drinking prior to the game start at 2:00 and continued heavily until tournament start time to drown out the sorrows of a French loss
  3. He'll be passed out b/c he started drinking prior to the game start. It doesn't matter how the game turns out, three beers and drsebbi needs a nap.*

Enjoy the game Seb. I hope the French come away with a victory for you.
