Championship Info
What’s the deal?
Expected arrival time is between 3:45 and 4:15. At 4:15 the tournament directors (TD) will begin with a discussion of blinds, seat assignments and movement of players between tables. The first hand will be dealt at no later than 4:45. Same rules apply as weekly tournaments, if you're not there by this time, your chips will be blinded out.
Seat assignments will be decided by drawing cards. Each seat will be assigned a card A – 10, hearts (red) and spades (black). Players will draw from either the A - 10 of diamonds (red) or the A - 10 of clubs (black). If you draw 3 of diamonds (red) you find your spot at the 3 of hearts (red), etc. In order start out with an even amount of chips at each table, the pile you draw from will be determined by your final position in the standings.
The blind shedule will moved based on the number of hands played and not by time. Each blind level will last 10 hands and will be monitored by the TDs. The TDs will ensure that one table does not move too far ahead of the other by pausing play at the faster table in one of two situations:
1) at the end of a blind level
2) any time player movement is necessary.
Any time player movement is necessary the player with the smallest chip stack will move from the table with more players to the table with less players and will sit in the position most similar to his previous table in relation to the button.
Tables will be combined to one table when there are ten players remaining. TDs will be responsible for all shuffling and will assist with dealing once a position becomes available at each of the tables.
Payout deals cannot be made until there are two players remaining. At heads up play, it is up to the remaining two players to decide if they wish to chop the pot or play out to the finish. Should the players decide to chop, money will be split according to their negotiations, but play will continue to determine the AKPL champion. All heads up negotiations must be made prior to the beginning of heads up play.
